My first attempt at a time lapse. This is about 75 minutes of time.
I used the Dynamic Perception MX2 Controller but not the dolly or rail; next time.

Taken this morning just before dawn. B+W circular polarizer and a Lee .6 ND Grad.
It’s a hard shot, I’ve tried many times and still haven’t mastered this one. The contrast between light and dark is so great it makes this one of the toughest dawn/sunrise shots to get.
Lake Louise, Canada one very cold winter morning.
I took this photograph on the same evening as this one. I wanted to get my safe shot in before experimenting a bit. I’m happy I experimented. This was taken using two filters; a 2 stop ND and a circular polarizer. I find the combination of those two often results in great motion blur and very strong colours which don’t require much tweaking in post. If you have any similar or even wildly different technique tips please share them in the comments.
Sometimes you wait years for the right weather to happen. This is one of those situations. I wanted the low fog, sunset and me actually near the bridge with my camera for once! This was my safe shot, the one I had in my head for a few years. The next shot is one where I experimented a bit more, same conditions but a totally different look. Click here to see what I mean.
At dawn in Yosemite, especially in winter the contrast between the lit areas and shadow areas are quite stark.
