Ardnamurchan, 2006. It’s taken me 5 years to process this one. I tried and tried to get the processing right to really show the oppressive light that occurs in this region.
It took me a long time.

Hi Paul – I’d say you’ve nailed it very nicely. Well worth the effort.
It’s been a few years since I was last up there and I’ve been trying, without success, to identify where within the peninsula this actually is. At first glance, I thought the main building might be The Sonachan, but now I’m certain it’s not. Any chance you could be more specific?
I *think* this was the location. It was too stormy to get to the other side of the lighthouse so I went to the bay instead and took some shots of the brief sunset the spun around and took the shot here.

Hi Gary
Thanks.

Absolutely gorgeous image and yes, very oppressive lighting but, in a beautiful way! Well worth your efforts, love it
Thanks. When you are way out there it feels very eerie and lonely when those big clouds roll in!
Thanks for visiting.
Paul
A great composition, the sky in particular has a real sense of foreboding.
Thanks, it’s a great place to shoot. It’s a very long drive and fairly desolate (brilliant!) but totally worth the effort.
